River - is a white and liver, male English springer spaniel who was born on September 9, 2005. His parents are AFC/HR Strong's Jock of Suthron Glen and Strong's Eastcoast Ellie FTW, who was honored with the 2003 US National Open Guns Award.
This is a gentle, easy-going, calm dog in the house with good manners. River is crate trained, fully house trained and walks nicely on a lead. He loves being with people and gets along very well with other dogs.
River is healthy, intact and current on his immunizations. He has OFA certified elbows (EN-EL954M24-NOPI) and OFA "good" hips (EN-10984G24M-NOPI). His PFK is "clear" and eyes were ACVO "normal" as a puppy. This is an opportunity to get a nice dog that will make a lucky someone a great best buddy. You just won't find another dog with as great a personality as River.
Our Introduced puppy program provides socialization and a foundation of enriching experiences for a very limited number of our puppies. This program is specificly designed for the future hunting dog or field events participant. We carefully select these pups based on their temperament, personality and trainability.
Our Introduced pups are limited to litters that are born between February and September of each year. These puppies remain at Autumnskye until they are from three to five months old. While they are at Autumnskye, these pups are provided with the opportunity to
explore various types of cover and game scent. They spend time becoming accustomed to household activities, sleeping in a kennel crate, interacting with other dogs, developing socialization skills, cultivating self-confidence, taking rides in the car and learning some basic commands.
It is a foundational experience designed to get these pups off to a great start... not formal field training. Pups of this age are much too young for formal field training.
The Introduced fee is all-inclusive for the price of the puppy, dew claw removal, tail docking to field length [2/3], deworming, first immunizations, a veterinary health check,
a "full rights" registration form from a registry of the breeder's choice, ACVO canine ophthalmologist eye exam at seven weeks and our Autumnskye health guarantee. Air shipping fees, if required, are additional.
Started
A Started dog has been through our Introduced program and has begun formal field training. They are quartering, flushing and retrieving shot birds. A started dog may have some hunting experience. This dog is bold to cover, has had some water work as well as basic yard work. It knows hand, voice and whistle commands.
A started dog is not steady, has not had advance field work such as doing blind or multiple retrieves, honoring, nor field trial style brace work. Their age will range from between six to fourteen months.
If you are looking for a young dog who is ready to be hunted - or one that is an excellent prospect for hunt tests and field trials - an Autumnskye Started dog may be right for you.
The Started fee is all-inclusive for the price of the dog, current immunizations, a veterinary health check, "full rights" registration from a registry of the breeder's choice, an ACVO canine ophthalmologist eye exam at seven weeks and our Autumnskye health guarantee.
